FRANCA, Demétrius Alves de  y  FRANK, Maria Laura. Therapeutic Group Accompaniment: Argentine and Brazilian experiences. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2021, vol.41, n.100, pp. 16-25. ISSN 1415-711X.

Therapeutic accompaniment (TA) emerged in Argentina in the 1960s and quickly spread to Brazil and other countries. This ambulant clinic (as it is called in Brazil) was initially focused on treating chronic patients who did not adapt to traditional treatments. Its development took place differently in different countries due to the specific needs of each patient; to the contributions of different psychological theories, and to the different contexts in the countries and their health care models. Therapeutic group accompaniment (TGA) within the different possibilities of therapeutic accompaniment exercise is a modality that is still little known in Brazil, while in Argentina it is possible to identify a greater development of the subject with contributions from various authors. It is from this difference between Argentina and Brazil that the authors present a bibliography exposition of two countries on the subject that proposes a greater dialogue, on the therapeutic accompaniment as a whole and on the distinctions in the way it is exercised in the different countries.

Palabras clave : therapeutic accompaniment; therapeutic group accompaniment.
