MIRANDA, Jessica Cardoso  y  GUIMARAES, Claudiane Aparecida. Stress level in addicted people under treatment in therapeutic communities. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2021, vol.41, n.100, pp. 48-54. ISSN 1415-711X.

The use of psychoactive substances spreads frightfully. Consequences affect personal, family, social and professional life. Some addicted people agree to seek help, such as those ones considered in this article. This work deals with the relationship between stress and drug addiction rehabilitation of patients receiving treatment for chemical dependency. Its aim was to identify levels, phases and symptoms of stress, as well as stressor sources. The research context was a therapeutic community in a city of Minas Gerais state countryside. Eleven people were research informants. Data gathering relied on tools such as Lipp's Inventory of Stress Symptoms for adults as well as semi structured interview protocol. Results indicate that 55 per cent of informants face stress in their lives in the resistance phase and with prevalence of psychological and physical symptoms; the most indicated stressor source was internal factors, especially the fear of letting people down. This study points out the importance of specific interventions to learn more on stress and coping strategies.
