ALVES, Alice Gimenes; PINTO JUNIOR, Antonio Augusto; ZAMPIERI, Teresa Cristina Rangel Credidio  y  TARDIVO, Leila Salomão de La Plata Cury. Sexual abuse and trauma: a case study in the view of psychoanalysis. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2022, vol.42, n.102, pp. 1-10. ISSN 1415-711X.

Sexual child abuse is considered one of the serious health problems nowadays, and in a psychoanalytical reading it is understood as a traumatic event that involves mechanisms that increase mental suffering. This fact demands clinical work that supports the patient's anxieties and favors the resignification of that experience. Thus, this article discusses, based on the dialogue between Freud, Ferenczi and Winnicott, the theoretical contributions that facilitate the understanding of the impact of sexual violence on the victims' subjectivity and its handling in the therapeutic setting. A case study of a 20-year-old young woman who was abused by her maternal grandfather and uncle in her childhood is used. The analysis of the clinical material identified the place of psychic trauma as an etiological element of an anxiety disorder and the defense mechanisms used. It is concluded that, by offering a reliable and supportive environment, the patient victim of sexual abuse can achieve the integration of the self, but it is emphasized that the clinical intervention must be articulated with multidisciplinary actions, due to the various nuances of this phenomenon.

Palabras clave : sexual child abuse; psychological trauma; psychoanalysis.
