Abstract

ALMEIDA, Isabela Medeiros de; PEDRUZZI, Pâmela Fardin  and  MATOS, Fabíola Rodrigues. Interpersonal social support for women victims of violence in Latin America: review of the literature. Bol. - Acad. Paul. Psicol. [online]. 2022, vol.42, n.102, pp. 74-81. ISSN 1415-711X.

This research aimed to investigate the social support to victims of violence against women in the Latin American scientific literature. A survey was conducted in the PsycINFO, Scielo, Scopus and Redalyc bases, over the last five years, using descriptors related to the theme, and thus, 69 papers that fit the inclusion criteria of the theme of interest were analyzed. It appears that the family is the main source for welcoming victims, followed by the network of friends, professionals and members of the religious community. Most of the studies found address social support directly to victims, prioritizing assistance provided by professionals. However, the minority focused on social support research, reporting only its importance in this context.

Keywords : violence against women; domestic violence; social networks; Latin America; social support.
