Abstract

ANDRADE, Fernando Cézar Bezerra de. Inside or outside: where is that school?. Estilos clin. [online]. 2002, vol.7, n.12, pp. 76-99. ISSN 1415-7128.

This article discusses the implications of the relationship between school and parents/ community on the students' moral development. Inspired by the theory of institutional psychopedagogy (based on psychoanalysis), it is suggested that the parents and the community can function as the third element in the school's unconscious dynamic. By considering two models ot relationship (the inclusive and the excluding), the analysis ot two schools reveals that the inclusive school - wich is well succeeded in involving the parents/the community and remains inside the interinstitutional system - works better with the conllicts of the human coexistence and otiers a favorable environment to the autonomous moral development. The opposite is the case with the excluding school.

Keywords : School; parents; community; moral development; psychoanalysis; institutional psychopedagogy.
