Abstract

RIBOT, Georgette. From wandering to transhumance.Translated byM. Stella Machado. Estilos clin. [online]. 2005, vol.10, n.19, pp. 106-121. ISSN 1415-7128.

Accompanying a person is interceding with that person, going part of the way with him/her and supporting and helping him/her in his /her progress. How could we proceed when it comes to wandering teenagers who refuse everything that is instituted, who totally mistrust adults and who express their uneasiness with repetitive punishable living out fantasies? The educational method which is described here is in keeping with the penal measures against delinquents under 18 who are living in their usual environment. Some of them met an institution or even prison on their way; most of them are facing too many difficulties to be tolerated in an institution. This "staging" is inspired from Didier Anzieu`s (1985) work. It is built in order to surprise the teenager, to "turn him on in spite of himself" in a place where he can't escape the group nor himself. Step by step, day after day, sand dune after sand dune , in a no limit space, full of light, full of silence, where's there's nothing else but him and people like him, the teenager goes on relying on the group, on rituals, on significant values and adults.
