Abstract

TAKATORI, Marisa et al. The ludic in the assistance of disabled children: a reflection on the cultural production during childhood. Estilos clin. [online]. 2007, vol.12, n.23, pp. 90-107. ISSN 1415-7128.

The present article proposes the discussion of the activities which the disabled child performs along the process of occupational therapy, viewed as unique productions of culture and expression of subjectivity. In order to achieve this, material from clinical experience with disabled children was collected in a field diary from medical patient charts and records of the observation experienced by the therapist in an investigation where the aspects of subjectivity and symbolism are present. It was verified, then, the possibility of a reflection on the cultural aspect of children’s productions as favoring their acknowledgment as well as their participation in the shared reality.
