Abstract

OLIVEIRA, Caroline Moreira de  and  MARIOTTO, Rosa Maria Marini. Two cases and a question: what is the role of the caretaker on the child's subjective constitution?. Estilos clin. [online]. 2008, vol.13, n.24, pp.176-189. ISSN 1415-7128.

Due to the absence of the working man and woman from the domestic environment, the family relies on the assistance of a caretaker, who also participates in the psychological geography of the child. It considers a theoretical-practical discussion of the caretaker effects on child's subjective constitution. The discussion is based on two clinical cases. In the first case, the caretaker occupies a maternal role, in the second she plays a paternally significant role. In conclusion, the ethical implications of psychoanalysis are considered, and the influence of the caretaker in the family configuration and, above all, on the child.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; caretaker; primary Other; child's clinic.
