Abstract

The concept of coparenting has been increasingly correlated to child adjustment and development of children. Through a systematic review, this article describes the most common measures of coparenting, as well as the most investigated familiar contexts found in studies of the Capes database. Only empirical studies, in English, Spanish or Portuguese, published between 2000 and 2014 were analyzed. Two important tests were applied, and 37 studies were approved for final analysis. The results showed a predominance of the instruments in the shape of scales, has been found more often the instruments Coparenting Family Rating System, the Observation Rating Coparental Protocol and the Parental Alliance Inventory, and nuclear family, the most studied configuration. From the survey, it was concluded that the empirical research of coparenting need to add qualitative methodologies, and enable that heterogeneous families be investigated.
