Abstract

VILHENA, Junia de; BITTENCOURT, Maria Inês Garcia de Freitas; NOVAES, Joana de Vilhena  and  ROSA, Carlos Mendes. What happens in childhood does not stay in childhood: respect for others in social relations. Estilos clin. [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.2, pp. 339-353. ISSN 1415-7128.  http://dx.doi.org/10.11606/issn.1981-1624.v22i2p339-353.

This work proposes a sociological and psychoanalytic view on childhood's psychic formation in contemporary times. It highlights the importance of caring in early life as an essential condition of the child's growing process. The text gives relevance to alteritarian relations and the subjective recognition that lead to the feeling of belonging to a society. It points out that trusting the affection of others is critical for the child to feel allowed to express their own opinions and affections. In the other hand, if children who have known by helplessness do not receive proper care, they will become troubled, wither and lose desire for life.

Keywords : childhood; reception; other; subjective recognition.
