Abstract

MARCOS, Cristina Moreira  and  MENDONCA, Renata Lucindo Ferreira. ADOLESCENCE AND SEXUAL DIFFERENCE: THE FUNCTION OF THE ACT. Estilos clin. [online]. 2018, vol.23, n.1, pp. 175-190. ISSN 1415-7128.  http://dx.doi.org/10.11606/issn.1981-1624.v23i1p175-190.

With puberty, changes occur leading sexuality to the primacy of the genital area. This new sexual goal carries different functions to the two sexes, whose sexual development did not differ much until this moment. Freud (1905/1969) compares this period to the crossing of a tunnel dug from both sides, which marks to the subject the disconnection between their being as a child and their future being as a man or a woman. From a Conversation, we hypothesize that pregnancy may be, for some adolescents, an attempt to respond to what it is to be a woman.

Keywords : adolescence; psychoanalysis; act; sexual difference.
