Abstract

BINKOWSKI, Gabriel Inticher. Teenagers "children of migration" and the State: notes on psychoanalysis and education in the French context. Estilos clin. [online]. 2020, vol.25, n.1, pp. 48-62. ISSN 1415-7128.  http://dx.doi.org/10.11606/issn.1981-1624.v25i1p48-62.

In this work, we circumscribe some of the characteristics and impasses experienced by adolescents from migrant families in France. These young people end up being placed in a frontier social space, notably in their experience in National Education, this constituting itself as a series of devices for transmitting both school content and ways of life and self-culture that are linked to a certain idea republican society. We think here of education as a separate culture, which offers ways of being, acting, thinking, feeling, in addition to a whole myriad of representations and content of anthropological value. This sometimes clashes with other cultural, linguistic and identity values experienced and brought by these teenagers who usually live a kind of split between worlds and subjective spaces so different between those at home and the social field (through education). We deal with these issues through our experience as a mental health professional in France, bringing two cases that we follow and that portray the dramas of adolescents in a cross-cultural situation.

Keywords : transcultural; migration; education; adolescence; psychoanalysis.
