Abstract

ANDRADE, Luciana Carla Lopes de  and  LANG, Charles Elias. Transference in psychoanalytic clinic with adolescents. Estilos clin. [online]. 2020, vol.25, n.2, pp. 297-312. ISSN 1415-7128.  http://dx.doi.org/10.11606/issn.1981-1624.v25i2p297-312.

This paper examines transference in psychoanalytic clinic with adolescents, based on the works of Freud and Lacan. In the clinical treatment we listen to what it is to be a teenager and we come across a hard work of this young patient towards an elaboration of the lack in the Other. From the concept of transference in Freud - as the most powerful resistance to treatment - and the concept of transference in Lacan - who presents the concept of "subject supposed to know" - a clinical vignette is presented to illustrate and discuss transference in psychoanalytic clinic with adolescents. It is understood that transference is a necessary and fundamental tool for the clinical treatment and that the role of the analyst is to build new symbolic references so that adolescents may be able to support themselves outside of the family and to face their desire.

Keywords : adolescence; transference; discourse; psychoanalysis.
