Abstract

MAZZILLI, Roberta  and  FONSECA, Fernanda Lima. Dolto, thirty years later: her theory's actuality and the concept of "desiring subject". Estilos clin. [online]. 2020, vol.25, n.2, pp. 313-321. ISSN 1415-7128.  http://dx.doi.org/10.11606/issn.1981-1624.v25i2p313-321.

This paper is an interpretation of the French psychoanalyst Françoise Dolto's work. Our aim is to recover her theory and clinical practice's actuality, especially concerning the notion of "desiring subject". Firstly, we present the author's brief biography and her contributions to psychoanalysis and to the society of her time. Following, we address how Dolto understood the baby's first experiences using the concept of "unconscious image of the body". Finally, we demonstrate how the guess that the baby bodily expresses desires prematurely has opened the possibility to develop an effective work with early childhood. This has transformed Dolto into a reference author.

Keywords : Dolto; psychoanalysis; child; subject; desire.
