Abstract

KLINKO, Janaina  and  CARVALHO, José Sérgio Fonseca de. Remote school: how to avoid the domestication of the school experience?. Estilos clin. [online]. 2021, vol.26, n.1, pp. 58-67. ISSN 1415-7128.  http://dx.doi.org/10.11606/issn.1981-1624.v26i1p58-67.

Given the critical context of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on educational practices, this article aims to recover fundamental aspects of the school experience. It establishes an understanding of the school as a space and time of transition between the private and public spheres; as a form of separation from the productive order and as a shield to the family universe. From these definitions, this article remarks that the dilution of the boundaries between home and world makes it difficult for the school to operate as a space-time of alternation in regard to family. And, considering the restrictions caused by the necessary social distancing, it questions the possible consequences of the virtuality imposed by the practices of remote education, mainly concerning the risk of domesticating the school.

Keywords : education; school; family; remote school; distance education.
