SOUZA, Tharso Peixoto. The child, the word and the play: possible links. Estilos clin. [online]. 2021, vol.26, n.1, pp. 99-114. ISSN 1415-7128.  http://dx.doi.org/10.11606/issn.1981-1624.v26i1p99-114.

Child psychologists and psychoanalysts agree that playing is a common activity in clinical attendance. However, what would be the specifics of this clinic and what would be the function of playing in clinical services? Starting from the bibliographic field of authors whose orientation is the lacanian psychoanalysis, this article intends to explain the place of playing in the clinical care of children and its relation with the specificities that involve the child, as a subject of the unconscious transversed by the word. It is by what it says of itself and the world around it, that the child can recognise its own desire into analysis, using of the play as a support of the signifier's chain. In addition, the psychoanalyst of children needs to pay attention to the new ways of playing and their relation with the new symptoms, as responses to the real of contemporaneity, by providing an opportunity for reflection on his doing in the psychoanalytic clinic with children, his posture and his interventions.
