Abstract

LOPES, Ana Clara de Araújo et al. Work at sustainable community: its influence on the quality of life of workers. Psicol inf. [online]. 2007, vol.11, n.11, pp. 56-80. ISSN 1415-8809.

Considering the concept of sustainability and people’s approach to nature and agricultural activities, the present study aimed to identify the sustainable community work’s influence on the worker’s quality of life. An interview was performed with a group of 20 workers belonging to a community vegetable garden from the Sustainable Development Global Association (AGDS), located in the district of Rudge Ramos, São Bernardo do Campo/SP. The instruments used in this study were a semi-structured interview and the WHOQOL-BREF. The results indicated that the group sees the environment as unsatisfactory, reaching high scores in the physical, psychological, and social-relational areas. Such results reveal the need of further studies on this matter and the publication of the possible benefits of the work in sustainable community vegetable gardens on the life of workers.
