Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the quality of life of the health professionals who works at Cancer Hospital of Campo Grande/MS. Method. Quantitative and cross-sectional. From a sample N=84, n= 66 health professionals took part on this research. For evaluate the QOL of these health professionals, were applied: a socio-demographic questionnairy and the quality of life questionnairy "The Medical Outcomes Study 36- item Short-Form Health Survey"(SF-36). Results. In the 66 participants, the most of them was female (65,2%); married (45,5%) and 62,1% of them are technical level. The great reason of participants who works with patients with cancer was the personal satisfaction (56,1%). The mean age of participants was 35 years old and the monthly income R$ 1.769,00 for 49 weekly work hours. At analysis of dominions SF- 36 indicated a significative difference (p=0,004) for the participants, presenting the best functional capacity (86,48%) and the worst was vitality (69,85%); and pain and emotional aspect related with the reasons why working in this hospital. Conclusion. The health professionals demonstrate a good performance related by functional capacity dominion. However, the vitality dominion demonstrated preoccupying scores, result that may influence a negativisms in the QOL of these professionals.
