The present paper brings to the discussion of the applicability of clinical psychology in indigenous communities and specifically raises such issues as: theoretical and technical tools that a clinical psychologist dares to use when trying to understand the psychological phenomenon permeated by ethnic and cultural differences so striking? And the available tools are adequate for understanding this application? This discussion draws upon the psychoanalytic concept of the psychological field, which emerges from the doctor-patient relationships and that has proven useful in the conduct of individual psychotherapeutic interventions, and the proposal of brief psychotherapy psychoanalytic.
