Abstract

MACEDO, Paula Costa Mosca. Desafios atuais no trabalho multiprofissional em saúde. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2007, vol.10, n.2, pp. 33-41. ISSN 1516-0858.

This article addresses the multidisciplinary or multi-professional assistance as an important approach to treat patients and help their family members, as the knowledge acquired in the field of the health sciences increases every day, in volume and complexity. It also reports and discusses aspects that are in opposition to the effective practice of the multi-professional health care. Inter-personal relationship between health professionals, as well as their fight for power in microenvironments, often hinders the shift of institutional policy towards more humane heath assistance. Furthermore, many times, health professionals show a mechanical behavior in their daily tasks without paying the due attention to others and even to themselves. The challenge that the multi-professional heath care faces today is to derive a kind of new knowledge from the reflection into the complex field of health assistance and impart it to health professionals as a means of having them involved and committed to the improvement of team work, a tool of essential importance to the quality of health assistance.
