From theoretician-practical joints, this text searchs to reflect on the action of the psychologist in units of emergency that, in turn, also reverberates in the work of all the health team. The sufferingo and the internment in these units are lived as a situation-limit that affect directly patient and its family, demanding of all the health professionals one to ethical care that it values the human being in its singularity and a biopsychosocial dimension.Key words: psuchologist; emergency units; suffering; ethical care.
