Psychology’s institutional insertion is marked by the daily construction of knowledge produced in the hospital environment which are, at the beginning, not much entailed to systematic research. This survey reports the study of knowledge production, in this area, within Psychology post-doctoral programs in Brazil, by the analysis of doctorate theses completed in the period of 2003/2004. The methodology adopted is the documental one, category of the historical research, and it aims to identify the features of the production process. Supported by the Higher Education Level Staff Improvement Coordination Theses Bank/ CAPES, it was possible to select six theses completed in the period mentioned above. The results pointed out the geographical concentration of the production in the State of São Paulo, the wide variety of thematic issues focused connected to many medical specialties, as well, the prevalence of methodologies which associate qualitative and quantitative resources and, finally, a great range of Psychological theoretical approaches.
