BARBOSA, Leopoldo Nelson Fernandes; DANTAS, Fábio Galvão; SILVA, Marcos Antônio Barbosa da  and  SILVA, Josimário João da. About ethics and sexual violence:: clippings of a case treated outside specialised services. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2010, vol.13, n.2, pp. 299-317. ISSN 1516-0858.

Sexual crimes have increased among women and teenagers. They may result in important consequences not only physical, but also psychological and social impairment. Public health politics and bioethical concepts must develop acknowledgment and attitudes toward assistance of these people. As sexual abuse frequently result in undesired pregnancy, legal abortion and a complete multidisciplinary assistance must also be discussed. Our objective is to describe a typical case of a female sexual abuse in terms of social, ethical, religious and public health aspects.

Keywords : Sexual abuse; Abortion; Bioethics; Public health.
