VASCONCELLOS, Sheyna Cruz  e  SEPULVEDA, Karine Rodrigues. Morbid obesity: a body of evidence and helplessness. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2011, vol.14, n.1, pp. 92-111. ISSN 1516-0858.

And the body is in evidence. In contemporary times, we see the new gendering of subjectivity in which the body occupies a privileged place. Enters the picture, morbid obesity, a complex pathology, which requires a multifactorial treatment combined with a set of specialties. The obese, his body "too full" points to the malaise, denounces the social ideals required in meat and demonstrates that one cannot escape the marks of a particular culture. It is known that any attempt to reduce the mental distress to a phenomenon that can be described and ended diagnostic categories do not correspond to the universal experience of the subject who suffers from physical pain and / or morals. It is from this joint significant that the construction of this clinical case lies. From the general to the particular obesity, combines a discussion of the subjetc’s relation to his body that, while not a symbolic nature is domesticated, does not obey the medical-surgical therapy and that covers a family romance and exacerbates conflicts.
