This paper refers to a literature search on themes that are entwined with the dynamics of the possible relationship between Health Psychology and the Hospital. Therefore, this research was conducted in order to understand some specific aspects of both Health Psychology and Medicine. The following themes were taken as a background for both topics: A Bit of History - Modern Psychology, Hospital Medicine, Health Psychology, Medical Psychology, Psychosomatics and Health Psychology, Psychology and Medicine: Dialogue - Psychology, Medical Psychology and Medicine, Psychology and Medicine: a paradox or simply two paradigms? Upon completion of the work, it was possible to identify, recognize and understand some points that, although do not justify, to some extent explain some of the positions taken by professionals in their meetings with others. Finally, beyond describing the dynamic aspects of the operations of Health Psychology and the Hospital, this study makes viable the belief that these two areas are liable to cooperate.
