Pregnancy is a complex experience that can trigger several changes and intensification of feelings. All relationships established from a fetal conception ? the couple's inclusive - are full of expectations, anxieties, and fears among the most diverse feelings. Whether pregnancy was conceived from parents' planning or desire, or totally unexpectedly and unplanned, the future parents will face a series of changes and adaptations in their lives. Malformation can be a result of any change during embryo development. Thus, at first, this article presents emotional reactions and main feelings experienced by couples that receive a prenatal diagnosis of fetal malformation. Secondly, it discusses about the role of hospital psychologist.
