Palliative care is the care for patients who do not respond curative treatments. Such care is offered by a team of health where the psychologist is inserted. In childhood cancer has a high cure rate, but in some cases are only possible palliative care. The purpose of this paper is to comment on the prospect of the psychologist in Palliative Care in Pediatric Oncology. For this we conducted a national literature review of scientific articles based on SciELO Brazil and the Virtual Health Library, books that depict the theme of Childhood Cancer, the Psycho-Oncology, Palliative Care, Death and a rescue legislation. The research analysis allowed us to consider that there are few studies on the psychology practice in palliative care. The practice of psychologists in this context can be done at individual or group through qualified listening, answering questions, mediating between patient, family and staff, providing care at all stages of treatment and in all areas of the hospital. In palliative care, the psychologist can work with: child, family and staff, working from communication diagnosis, monitoring treatment, approaching death and supporting the family in death and after death.
