Cancer treatment usually occurs in oncological centers, where there is a considerable influx of patients. Thus, when a patient arrives in one of these centers for treatment, she or he will interact to the stories and appearance of sick patients in gathering areas. The present study aimed to discuss the emotional impact resulted in patients in the beginning of chemotherapy treatment after his encounter with other long-term patients and compare them with literature. Therefore, methodology used was based on clinical narrative to raise and discuss most evident and recurrent psychological factors mentioned during clinical counseling. The most psychological factors raised were distress, fear, despair, defensive mechanisms, and identification. The last one may occasionally cause him generalizations and deprive him from coping. Concluding, the informal meeting of oncological patients trends to corroborate the meeting between patient and itself during sickness, which throughout psychological intervention, develops the patience own coping.
