VARELA, Andréa Sousa; MADEIRA, Manoel Luce  e  MORETTO, Maria Livia Tourinho. Fragile X syndrome: a possible articulation between psychoanalysis and genetics medicine?. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2015, vol.18, n.2, pp. 45-61. ISSN 1516-0858.

This article deals with the links between psychoanalysis and genetic medicine in regard to the fragile X syndrome (FXS), and it aims to be accessible to psychologists, psychoanalysts and doctors. If both fields are based on apparently conflictant epistemological references, we think here of possible dialogues with respect to research and treatment. We use the notion of subject's forclusion powered by certain studies on SFX, indicating, then, how the psychoanalytical notion of subject implies exchanges with the Other. In this context, epigenetics appears as a possibility of weaving between these disciplines, as it considers the influence of environment on genes. As we understand that exchanges with the Other are a primary component of environmental notion, we think of the possibilities for the inclusion of the subject in the genetic medicine's discourse, suggesting, so, its potential links with psychoanalysis.

Palavras-chave : fragile X syndrome; psychoanalysis; epigenetics; subject; genetic medicine.
