COSTA, Antonia Érica Lemos da  y  SOUZA, Juciléia Rezende. Psychosocial implications related to care for pregnant women with cancer: health team perceptions. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2018, vol.21, n.2, pp. 100-122. ISSN 1516-0858.

The number of cases of cancer during pregnancy has increased, imposing challenges to the professionals at the time of therapeutic decision-making. In order to investigate the experience of health professionals in care for pregnant women with cancer, this descriptive exploratory research was developed aiming to identify emotional responses, strategies used in decision making and perception of teamwork. A structured interview (online survey) was used and answered by 06 doctors, 07 nurses, 18 psychologists, 03 social workers, 01 speech therapists, 02 occupational therapists and 02 physiotherapists. After analyzing the data, results showed more emotional difficulty at first contact with the mother, at the time of communication of information and case discussion with the team. Positive emotions like empathy and compassion, also permeated the different evaluated moments. To deal with the care context, most sought information in the scientific literature and support of their peers and the multidisciplinary team. The results confirmed that the team tends to have emotional difficulties along the care for pregnant women with cancer, which could be minimized if they received training to deal with difficult times and communication to work in a multidisciplinary team.
