Abstract

ROSA, Raíssa Ramos da  and  QUIROGA, Carolina Villanova. Vicissitudes of nurses' work experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2019, vol.22, n.1, pp. 28-50. ISSN 1516-0858.

Professional work occupies a position of appreciation in contemporaneity, presenting itself as central to the subject´s life, having an undeniable identitary importance. Based on the theoretical assumptions of Work Psychodynamics and Psychoanalysis, this study aims to comprehend the specifics of nurses working experience in Brazilian Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs). A bibliographic review of articles was carried out between the years 2008 and 2017, indexed in the databases BVS, SciElo, LILACS and PsycINFO. It was verified the presence of stressors of the scope in question and the existence of a wide range of required tasks for professionals. It was also observed the gap that exists between the prescribed work and the effective work, being necessary that the subject mobilize its creative capacities to face the imposed impasses by the reality. Thus, it was perceived the need to take a careful look at the nursing professionals so that they can take care of themselves and effectively exercise their practices of care, considering the mutuality of care as a fundamental ethical principle. It is proposed as an intervention the promotion of groups of meetings that allow the elaboration of the work experiences in NICU and promote the care with the caregiver professional.

Keywords : nursing care; intensive care units; occupational health; psychoanalysis.
