Pregnancy is a moment that leads to high changes in the physiological, psychological, social and family aspects. From a psychological perspective, these changes are related to the existence of conflicts inherent to this period, like anxiety, guilty, fear and ambivalence feelings. This research aimed to describe the contributions of a Psychological Prenatal program for pregnancy. Research-action was the basis of this study considering the correlation between knowledge production about motherhood and the intervention over it.The instruments used were: semi-structured interview, sociodemographic and health questionnaire of the pregnant woman, Maternal Confidential record, and content analysis. The data was analyzed and discussed in light of the literature. It was possible to verify that the conflicts, fears and anxieties inherent to this period can be prevented or faced, considering the work groups enables these changes. In this sense, Psychological Prenatal is an important support program, sometimes for women - sharing experiences - sometimes for the couple - preparing them for the baby arrival.
