This study's objective was to analyze the time flow perception and experience in hospitalized patients in the Clinical ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of a large philanthropic hospital. The data was collected through semi structured interview and analyzed through the qualitative method of Content Analysis. It was found that 45% judged incorrectly the number of days of hospitalization. The time markers used by patients were listed and the meaning units that arose from the interviews were categorized in 4 themes. It is concluded that the time experience takes place for the patients as something that gives structure to the hospitalization experience and permeate its attributed meanings.
