Abstract

SILVA, Juliana Medeiros  and  DIONISIO, Gustavo Henrique. The subject in the contemporary and psychic manifestations. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2020, vol.23, n.1, pp. 158-171. ISSN 1516-0858.

At the present moment, in which we observe a new conception of subjectivity, in which the body takes on a privileged place and becomes main stage of the most diverse manifestations, thinking about the subject and the illness certainly requires more than just thinking about the physical body (organic): implies recognizing its importance, considering the body also from a psychological perspective as the holder of a construction and social function. In this sense, it involves looking at the subject, which often makes use of the body as a medium of expression/communication and/or as means to be alive, be seen, be heard. However, would there be something in the contemporary that would contribute to the illness of the subject? What do those "contemporary diseases", that seem to dominate the psi's offices, mean? Those were the questions that guided this theoretical study.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; human body; psychological manifestations of diseases.
