LIMA, Danilo Pereira; TAVARES DE ARAUJO, Francielly; OLIVEIRA, Ketlin Monteiro Felipe de  and  PIRES, Marina Rodrigues Novais. COVID-19: Experience report with therapeutic groups for employees of an emergency hospital. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2021, vol.24, n.1, pp. 128-136. ISSN 1516-0858.

Disaster and emergency situations, like the COVID-19 pandemic, are described in the literature as a significant stressor event and a source of acute psychological symptoms with possible long-term negative repercussions, especially for health teams. That said, two models of group intervention were applied with the objective of providing psychological support to health professionals in an Emergency Hospital. Employees participating in group interventions (n=111) presented demands related to fears of own and family contamination, anguish of death and anguish related to social distance between employees. Within the scope of this work, group intervention was identified as a valid and pertinent action for the strengthening and maintenance of adaptive strategies to face the psychological repercussions of the pandemic.
