Perception of the care from multi-professional team in assistance to oncological patients in Palliative Care. Rev. SBPH [online]. 2022, vol.25, n.2, pp. 83-95. Palliative Care (PC) is a holistic care for individuals who are in intense suffering related to their health, from a life-threatening illness. Therefore, we realize its importance for the patient with cancer. To gather a multidisciplinary team, with multidetermined skills and a contextual understanding of the patient and his/her illness process, favors humanization. The present study aims to understand the performance and perception of the care provided by the multidisciplinary team at Hospital Santa Marcelina de Itaquera regarding cancer patients in PC. In the construction and analysis of data in this research, the qualitative methodological paradigm was used. As instruments, a sociodemographic questionnaire and a semi-structured interview were developed. Different professionals who work in PC assistance participated in the research. The results were elaborated through thematic content analysis according to Bardin (1997) to elaborate an interpretive synthesis that dialogues with the research and survey objectives in six categories: the concept of CP; relationship with oncology; care itinerary; professional role; interdisciplinarity; and challenges. The performance in PC must be reflective and multiplying so that the work will promote quality of life for patients and families and expand the care network.
