Abstract

The athlete of soccer lives many stress situations to perform his function that can be interpreted as a menace to induce to anxiety responses. The interpretations generally can be shown by irrational beliefs and the dysfunctional thoughts. The excess of anxiety exists in many players who has rigid beliefs that modifies the perception of the sportive situations that they live (Barrera, 2000). The aim of this paper is assessment the anxiety in soccer teams, identify these players’ beliefs, verify if the dysfunctional thoughts are present in these situations. Three amateur teams of soccer were studied with Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI). 61% of the symptoms were of anxiety and 39% of depression. The core of this thoughts were mistaken, perfectionism and in the work structure. The approach Cognitive Behavioural offers to Psychology of Sport dynamism helping the athlete to modify his dysfunctional automatic from thoughts that induced to anxiety to more satisfactory thoughts behaviours to them, to the team and to the cheers.
