Abstract

CANDIDO, Carla Laino. Does psychoanalysis interest to the study of cognition?. Psicol. teor. prat. [online]. 2004, vol.6, n.2, pp. 37-46. ISSN 1516-3687.

Since Freud, the body assumes a new configuration and sexuality opens up a promising theoretical field of inquiry into the brain. When combined with the theory of self organizing systems, the Freudian concept of drive becomes a useful conceptual tool in Cognitive Science to study the human mind and cognition. This paper focuses on the contributions of the psychoanalytic knowledge and identifies the critical points, limits and possibilities of a potential interdisciplinary in the field of the philosophy of the mind.

Keywords : psychoanalysis; neurosciences; cognitive science; cognition; drive.
