MACEDO, Mônica Medeiros Kother et al. Reasons for adolescents to search for psychological care in a clinic school. Psicol. teor. prat. [online]. 2011, vol.13, n.2, pp. 63-75. ISSN 1516-3687.

The study explores the reasons for adolescents aged from 10 to 19 years to search for psychological care in the clinic school of a Psychology college between 2003 and 2009. One verifies the prevailing motivational modality which lead them to look for psychotherapeutic help. The methodological procedures used are quantitative ones. The documental analysis of the Triage Records used in the clinic school resulted in the creation of a database, the survey, and the classification of the complaints presented. The results found refer to the age group and the socioeconomic status observed in the Records, being the main reasons for care seeking those related to affective issues. It is highlighted the need to improve the record of information in the context of the clinic school. Qualified preventive actions are also relevant, as well as the interventions to face emotional sufferings in this stage of life cycle.
