Abstract

The present article was aimed to analyze the psychological and psychosocial aspects involved in the young adult's process of remaining at their parents' home. Two families with young adults were interviewed, aged 20 and 34 years old. Semi-structured interview was used to collect information. The method used was Collective Case Study. Data analysis have been made according to the content analysis method. Results show that in this families young adults and their parents have different opinions of this life together in the same home. Besides, their agree that the main reason in the young adult's process of remaining at their parents' home is the wish of continuing enjoying their parents' home comfort and safety. the familiar tasks not completed during the life cycle of life that drag on end up hindering the development of young adults and their resultingphysical and emotional emancipation in relation to the family.
