Perceptions of employment opportunities for people with disabilities (PwD) have been a widely discussed topic. The aim of this study was to analyze the associations between the ways in which the university perceive disabilities, antecedent factors – such as knowledge about disabilities and previous experience – and trust. The study was conducted with 800 students from four public universities, located in Minas Gerais. It was used the Conceptions of Disability Inventory, the survey of trust, and the sociodemographic questionnaire. It was found that perceptions about disability are associated with living with PwD with trust, as well as graduation. We conclude that determine the perception of the university on PwD brings important contributions to training, it assists in identifying issues that, if addressed, may influence the improvement of professional actions, and organizational policies related to disability.
