Abstract

CAMARA, Cândida Maria Farias  and  GOIS, Cezar Wagner de Lima. Meanings and art: facilitation-search with a group of art-identity. Psicol. teor. prat. [online]. 2015, vol.17, n.1, pp. 50-60. ISSN 1516-3687.

The authoress's commitment towards research, Movement of Community Mental Health of Bom Jardim, contributed to establish its aim of understanding the meanings that emerged from the creative process of participants, who are from an identity art group, and its implication on building of identity. To this end, expressed meanings were identified from the participants, the aspects of expression of identity exists in those meanings and the contribution of the use of art to build identity. The methodology facilitate it-searching was adopted, contemplating the inseparibility between the facilitation of group and search. Verbal reports were recorded and the sessions were photographed. Some units of meaning emerged as: fear and resistence to creation; creation processes; nature; existential polarity – release/birth versus prision/locks; feeling of group and grattitude. The meanings reveal the creative process mediated by art as a way to make idendity stronger in the development of creating the own existence.

Keywords : meaning; art; identity; search; facilitation.
