Abstract

GREGORUTTI, Carolina Cangemi  and  OMOTE, Sadao. Relationship between school inclusion of children with cerebral palsy and stress of family caregivers. Psicol. teor. prat. [online]. 2015, vol.17, n.1, pp. 136-149. ISSN 1516-3687.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the stress of cerebral palsy child's caregiver and to discuss its relationship with the inclusion. The study was conducted with 18 family caregivers of CP children attended in a special service directed to disabled people, and were regularly enrolled in an elementary school. For data collection, the short form of questionnaire on resources and stress (QRS-F) and an interview with 41 questions were used. Most of the family caregivers presented low stress. Significant correlations among factors that compose the stress were found. A weak positive correlation was found between stress and conditions that can favor the CP children's school inclusion. It is pointed out that attention to this population can be an important part of the effective construction of school inclusion.

Keywords : special education; inclusion; family caregiver; stress; disabled children.
