Therapeutic Accompaniment (TA) has received increasing attention in the field of mental health. This study presents a scientific literature review of Brazilian scientific articles on TA, based on dissertations and theses concluded in stricto sensu graduate programs in Brazil between 2000 and 2011. The references were obtained from the Dissertation and Thesis Database of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), carefully selected and, finally, assessed in view of different dimensions. In general, the results reveal repetitions in the corpus in terms of the methodo logical strategies, theoretical frameworks and methodological designs. In that sense, this study discloses gaps in the scientific literature and contributes to the definition of a research agenda on the theme.
