This research aims at making a cross-cultural adaptation of the Schizophrenia Caregiver Quality of Life Questionnaire (S-CGQoL) to the Brazilian context. The scale has 25 items distributed in seven subscales, with six response options. Procedure: 1. Translations of the scale by two independent translators 2. Back-translation of the two versions, by two other independent translators. 3. Review of the versions by an Expert Committee. 4. Pre-test study with a sample of the target population. Participated in this research. 24 caregivers of patients with schizophrenia randomly selected from a mental health service. Reformulations were made in the application format and the presentation of the items in order to assure its semantic equivalence with the original scale, its adaptation to the Brazilian context and its applicability to the target population.We have concluded that this scale is appropriate for the evaluation of the quality of life of family caregivers of schizophrenic patients after a validation study.
