GARBIN, Andréia De Conto  e  SILVA, Heloísa Aguiar da. I want to work! The outstanding experience of selective processes in the subjectivity of university students. Cad. psicol. soc. trab. [online]. 2016, vol.19, n.1, pp. 77-88. ISSN 1516-3717.

This study had as object understanding how selective processes reverberate in the subjectivity of young students who are trying to enter the labor market. Eight university students have been listened on interviews, which have been analyzed according to the Speech Analysis. The students reported they felt anxious during the selective process and that they had to adequate to the profile required by the company. They also described low self-esteem and guilty after failing in trying to enter the labor market. We conclude that the selective processes keep up with the changes and demands of the new models of management on work, therefore some new qualities related to the capacity of self-control, quality, change and mobility are required. The results presented on this study illustrate the demands of the selective processes, which reinforce the marginality of some groups and increase the contingent of the non-qualified. The experiences these young people live in the selective processes reveal mechanisms of exclusion, emphasis on non-professional knowledge and appreciation of useful behaviors to the companies instead of professional qualification.
