LOPES, Fábio José Orsini. Drugs and work: considerations on attention to workers drug users. Cad. psicol. soc. trab. [online]. 2016, vol.19, n.2, pp.209-220. ISSN 1516-3717.

This essay deals with the relationship between drug use and work. Its main objective is to discuss the models and practices of care for workers who use drugs within the framework of work organization and in line with the current policy of comprehensive care for these users. It begins by bringing some research contributions that compose the field and presents the central guidelines of the national policy of integral attention to drug users. The article considers that both drug use and work are in direct relation with subjective conformation and with the search for balance and normality in health. Thus, the phenomena of drug use and abuse can also be apprehended through their direct and often causal relationship with the organization and nature of work as human doing in the identitary and social planes. The results point to challenges in the implementation of the paradigm of overcoming prohibitionism and in the assimilation of harm reduction logic, since the relations and the organization of work seem to be as vital as unprepared for some revision or fundamental transformation in the attention to the user worker of drugs.
