Abstract

COSTACURTA, Jaisson Rodrigo  and  PULINO, Lúcia Helena Cavasin Zabotto. Toward an ethics of care on public policies aimed at overcoming social inequality. Cad. psicol. soc. trab. [online]. 2017, vol.20, n.1, pp. 55-64. ISSN 1516-3717.

In light of the Ethics of Care's approach, the purpose of this study is to reflect upon public policies that are oriented to overcoming social inequality. It intends to present some perspectives, highlighting the importance of care as a possibility to construct a new ethic paradigm. Initially, the recollection of these public policies' evolution enables the denaturalization of some conceptions, values and actions, bolstering the perception of how these policies have settled themselves in each period through their perspectives. Aiming Leonardo Boff's thought as a reference, the Ethics of Care is emphasized as a possibility of engineering public policies. Such assumption represents a possible alternative, considering that, after breaking with some concepts and practices, the spaces of nonconformity broaden and the possibilities to create alternatives that break away from the logic of capitalism open up, expanding the spaces of collective solidarity.

Keywords : Ethics of Care; Public policies; Social inequality.
