This investigation aims to address the possibility of constitution of an imaginary totality, which we conceptualized as the 100% worker, identified using the Narrative Interview method, which analysis is composed by socio-historical aspects, chronology mapping, and their respective significations. Interviews were conducted with workers who got ill because of the strenuous activities in slaughterhouses, union representatives and professional experts from the segment. The historically structured concepts of field of possibles, field of significations and imaginary were mobilized with the purpose of relating biographies to the social context of the worker’s activities and the conditions that made them ill or victims of occupational accidents. Then, we clarify the relations of the historically structured imaginary with the corporeality modified by illnesses, fear, sorrow and the future. Finally, we find a contradiction between the postulated 100% worker, proclaimed as ideal by labor organization, and the consequential illness.
