Abstract

REIS, Róbson Ramos dos. Zoocentric phenomenology and normativity. Nat. hum. [online]. 2019, vol.21, n.1, pp. 13-33. ISSN 1517-2430.

This paper aims to sketch the features of a notion of normativity that results from the phenomenology of the paraworld of animals, which Heidegger schematically drawn in the Fundamental Concepts of Metaphysics. I begin with a reconstruction of the phenomenology of the paraworld of animals, which focuses on the formal determination of three moments: the comportments, their environmental references, and the anticipatory structure of the accessibility realm of the organism. Next, I shall characterize normativity in the paraworld based on the concepts of disinhibition of drives and drive regulation. The article concludes with an indication of some problems for the further development of the phenomenology of the paraworld of animals.

Keywords : Heidegger; normativity; animal life; paraworld.
